Hello blogging world! I’m Ray, and today I’ve decided to let you guys know a little bit more about me and my bookish tastes. I’ve decided to start this blog of with the Book Blog Newbie Tag – which was created by Love And Other Bookish Things, her/his account URL doesn’t exist anymore, sadly. If anyone knows the new one, please comment it down below. Without further ado, let the tag begin.
1 – Why did you start this blog? 💭
I began this blog to review books more interracially, and more efficiently. Loads of my bookish-pals on bookstagram have blogs, they have inspired me daily, like The Bookish Gurl and JulieAnneReads. I’ve also, been promptly on Bookstagram under rays.books for over 5 months now, and have been enjoying the heck out of it. I hope to spread more bookish-love with this blog.
2 – What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging? 💭
I think, through my reading of Historical Fiction, I can review settings based on real life-times in YA Fantasy books better. I always pick up tidbits in books, and I’m like: haha, this is exactly like it was back then. Other than that, I really don’t know, and I hope to discover that as I write and as I keep growing as a book reviewer.
3 – What are you most excited for with this new blog? 💭
I’m definitely most excited about meeting book bloggers, talking about books and learning how to be the best reviewer that I can be. I hope to make even more bookish friends here in the blogging sphere and to be able to express my opinions on certain books to an audience.
4 – Why do you love reading? 💭
Wow, there are loads of reasons, to most people it’s the escapism, and there definitely are aspects of that. But for me it’s the ability to learn of new worlds, characters and relationships. I love to learn and books have helped me learn so much and I’ll forever be grateful. Books are amazing.
5 – What book series got you into reading? 💭
When I was younger it was the Skulduggery Pleasant series – this was one of the first full-fledged series that I ever read, the second one was Percy Jackson, but after reading these and loving them, I fell into a year-long reading slump, I didn’t read for years. The book series that got me into all of this was A Court Of Thorns And Roses. It got me collecting books, reading books and starting Bookstagram. For that, I’ll be forever grateful.
6 – What questions would you ask your FAVOURITE authors? 💭
I would ask how they came up with the ideas for my favourite characters and what their inspirations for the worlds where.
7 – What challenges will be the hardest to overcome, with starting a new blog? 💭
I think the accessibility of WordPress will be the hardest to overcome…. It’s so difficult to use, but thankfully, I’m getting the hang of it.
8 – When did you start reading? 💭
This is a hard question to answer as I don’t really remember, but probably 4 or 5? Whenever I learned to read, or when books were read to me, about that time.
9 – Where do you read? 💭
I read mostly on my bed, or on the couch as I love to be somewhere comfy when reading. My favourite place to read though, is outside. I love reading in nature.
10 – what books do you like reading? 💭
I love reading, Fantasy, Contemporaries and Historical Fiction. I don’t officially stick to these genres, but they’re the ones I’m most comfortable with.
thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed my first ever blog post – more will be coming soon. thanks, again – nick.
