Mid Year Freak Out – Tag

I’ve seen this tag all over booktube at the moment and I really wanted to write one up! This tag basically consists of talking about all you’ve read now that we’re in Mid-Year phase! (time flies, doesn’t it?)

Without further ado, here’s the tag:

Best Book You’ve Read So Far In 2019

The war between witches and Church is an ancient one, and Lou’s most dangerous enemies bring a fate worse than fire. Unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, a choice must be made.

And love makes fools of us all

I think you’ve all heard me raving about this book all over everything. Shelby Mahurin’s debut novel was a show stopper!

Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2019

I adored Three Dark Crowns and I had the sequel on hand and I read it instantly and flew through it!

I’m currently finishing up a review book, and then I can jump into Two Dark Reigns! I cannot wait!

You can find a full non-spoiler review of One Dark Throne here!

New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But You Want To

The Shadow and Bone trilogy is one of my all time favourite series, so I’m really mad at myself for not picking this up yet!

I cannot wait to start reading about Nikolai and the gang again.

This is definitely going to be one of my first July reads, as I bought it in January and still haven’t gotten around to it.

Most Anticipated Release For The Second Half Of The Year

I finished The Wicked King back in April and I have been suffering while waiting for this book!

Thankfully the release date was pushed back, which made many people, including myself very happy!

I cannot wait to see how Holly Black finishes up this epic Fantasy series.

Biggest Disappointment

I know what you all may be thinking, but this book by far wasn’t bad, it was actually pretty good. I just had such high expectations going into this book and they really didn’t hold up.

I really want to re-read this series, as I think due to the audiobook, I missed out on a a lot.

Again, I liked this book, I just had too high of expectations going in.

Biggest Surprise

I read this book back in March for a bookclub and I have to say, that I loved it so much!

It was so unexpected as I thought I would like this book and that it would be mediocre, but surprised I was!

Even thought I adored this book, I won’t be continuing with this series as I’m happy with how and where it ended.

Favourite New Author

I read most of Bardugo’s work this year, and I loved mostly all of it.

I can’t wait to see what she does with the upcoming Netflix series, and I cannot wait to read more of her work in the future.

She’s tied with Sarah J Maas, as my favourite author now!

What Book(s) Do You Need To Read By The End Of The Year

I really want to finish the Witchlands series this year as I read Truthwitch in January and I still haven’t picked up Windwitch.

So, that means, I have to read Windwitch, meaning it’s the book i NEED to read by the end of the year!

i hope you guys enjoyed this, I tag everyone and anyone doing! i didn’t include all the questions that are in this tag as I only wanted to talk about the books and authors of this year, but if you would like to see all the questions Feed the Crime has a lovely post on this tag! thanks for reading – nick
