Reading Wrap-Up ~ June

For June, I set myself a TBR of four books, as I knew I would be quiet busy. I’m happy to say I did read four books this month, but only one of them was from my set TBR. I’m happy I read one more book this month, then I did in May! Four to five books is my maximum reading goal for any month, so, I’m content with four. I have a review of this on my Goodreads!

Without further ado, here are the books I read last month:

One Dark Throne – Kendare Blake

I read this book at the start of the month, and I fell in love with the plot, the characters and the story. This was such a powerful sequel to Three Dark Crowns, which I read back in May and also loved. I have put my reading of Two Dark Reigns on hold as I’m not enjoying it, but I know I’ll get to it soon! I have a review of One Dark Throne here!

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Record Keeper – Agnes Gomillion

This month I was working with Titan Books on delivering Agnes Gomillion’s debut novel, The Record Keeper to the public. This book was so far from anything I’d normally read, but I did enjoy it! I gave it 3.5 stars due to it not being my thing. By that I mean, I didn’t find myself feeling good while reading this novel, as it’s brutal and very thought provoking. The writing was amazing for a debut novel, and if you’re into dystopians, check this one out! I have a review of this on my Goodreads!

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Serpent & Dove – Shelby Mahurin

I got approved on Edelweiss for an E-ARC of this book, and I was beyond exited to read it! In my YA 2019 Most Anticipated Releases I mentioned this being the book I was most exited for, and oh boy – it did not disappoint. I have a full review of it here! I loved this book, for me, it is this year’s A Court of Mist & Fury.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

X-Men Days of Future Past – Alex Irvine

This was another book sent to me by Titan, so thank you to them! During mid-June I was in a fantasy slump, and I was so happy this book got me out of it! I really needed this, as it was fun, superhero packed and very easy to read! If you’re still coming off that Endgame high, I would suggest picking this one up! I have a review of this on my Goodreads!

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
