Hello everyone, I hope that you are well!
July was a blast, so much happened and it’s really been the highlight month of this year. At the beginning of July, I went to France, where I spent my days lounging by the pool and reading. Then on the 26th of July I ventured to YALC (Young Adult Literature Con) for the first time ever. Which, let me tell you was an experience. It was such a great and well organised convention, I can’t wait to go next year! It’s known to entice you into buying books, and we all know bookworms don’t need much incentive to buy books in the first place and if you slap a low price on them – we’ll come running. It’s safe to say that I didn’t pick up that many books – but there’s still a lot to haul today.
So without further ado – here’s my July+YALC book haul:
Again, But Better – Christine Riccio
I’m so exited to dive in and finish this novel! Christine was the first book-tuber I ever watched and it’s so nice to see so much of her in this book.
I’m keeping up with this book on audio and physically reading it as I’m currently in a wee of a reading slump, which sucks – but you guys over on Instagram have been helping me, which I’m so grateful for!
The Language of Thorns – Leigh Bardugo
I was so exited to see this at YALC at a lowered priced. I’ve nearly completed my Leigh Bardugo collection – which makes me really happy!
This is an October read for me, as I’ve heard it’s spooky and dark. I’m so thrilled to be jumping back into the Grisha verse!
Also, the illustrations in this book are amazing!
Turning Darkness into Light – Marie Brennan
This book was kindly sent to be by TitanBooks, so thank you to them!
This book follows dragons and it’s from an acclaimed author – who’s written other dragon based books – so I’m exited to jump into it!
This book comes out August 10th!
The Storm Crow – Kalyn Josephson
Another book I picked up at YALC at a discounted price!
I’ve seen this book all over Instagram and it’s cover is gorgeous! A lot of friends have been recommending me this book and it’s intrigued me ever since I saw it in a Fairyloot box as an ARC.
The Beautiful – Renèe Ahdieh
This book was kindly sent to me by HodderBooks – so thank you to them.
When I got an email saying that Hodder was sending me this book, I squealed, a little bit…
This is my most anticipated read of the year and I can’t wait to get threw my current reads to jump into this one!
This book comes out October 8th.
This Time Will Be Different – Misa Sugiura
I saw Hailey over at HaileyInWonderland recommend this book and I was intrigued ever since.
This was at the Harper360 booth at YALC with yellow sprayed edges and I couldn’t resist!
When I get into the contemporary mood, this will be the first thing I pick up!
Strange Ink – Gary Kemble
Another book sent to me by TitanBooks – so thank you to them!
This was sent to me as the second book is getting released soon.
If you’re a fan of horror – this will definitely get under your skin!
We Are Lost And Found – Helene Dunbar
When I picked up the Storm Crow – the people at the table had a deal of, buy a book get an ARC – so I picked this one up.
It looked interesting and the cover is stunning. I might get around to ARC August, which is when I’ll read it!
This book comes out September 2019.
Blood & Sand – Jennifer M. Lane
This book was kindly sent to me by the author themselves.
Jennifer is an indie, self-published author – so please, if you’re interested in ‘Gilmore Girls, with a bar’ check this book out.
It’s available on Amazon, here. It’s also free on Kindle Unlimited.
Wilder Girls – Rory Power
I won an early UK copy of this at YALC during a raffle which is really exiting!
I saw Kayla from booksandlala talk about this non-stop, so I wanted to pick it up, but I’m glad I won a copy.
The UK copy has hot-pink text instead of black and will be out soon!
New Moon – Stephenie Meyer
I read Twilight for the first time while I was in France, and I kind of fell in love.
I ordered the hardcover of this immediately, but sadly my reading slump had stopped me reading, so I’m only on page 100 so far – but I can’t wait for this reading slump to fade so I can enjoy this book to it’s full extent!
Carry On – Rainbow Rowell
After Jules over at JulieAnneReads recommended me this, I really wanted to get it and it was discounted at YALC so I bought it there.
I’ve never read any Rainbow Rowell, and I think her more Fantastical stuff will boad better with me.
Also, this cover is amazing!
i hope you guys enjoyed reading! how many book did you pick up this month, did you attened YALC? let me know. thank you for reading – nick
